Crystal drop

Gunner legend urges Arteta to ditch Tierney for Liverpool shock

Kevin Campabell has asked Nuno Tavares to get the green light to start Kieran Tierney again on Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool this weekend.

The Scotland international hasn’t played for the Gunners since October 18, when we faced Crystal Palace, and the summer signing took full advantage of his chance to replace him. Tierney has returned to action during the international break, however, playing almost every minute of their two wins, and looks to be good to go.

Tavares’ performances have earned him praise from a number of circles though, and our former striker Campbell goes so far as to believe he should get the green light on his more experienced counterpart.

“If I’m honest I wouldn’t change it,” he said on Curtis Shaw TVthe YouTube show of. “Nuno has the physique and the speed.

“Defensively he might not be as accomplished as Tierney, but these days he’s been racking up some clean sheets.

“Play him, you know what, he’ll be a threat the other way around and they don’t know much about him.”

I think it would be too important a call personally, to go for the less experienced player for such a massive game, and while Nuno deserves all the credit he gets, Tierney’s leadership and mindset has to give him the edge. to start.

I also think Nuno’s introduction later in the game when the legs are maybe a bit tired could turn out to be a masterstroke with his running and attacking instincts, something that could hurt. or compete, when I could possibly be tempted to give it a right leak if Andy Robertson is left out.

Tierney’s international teammate is believed to be a doubt for the clash on Kop Empire reports.

Who do you think Arsenal left-back should get the green light, and why?
